Founded in 2014 by Shely and her friends, Team Shely509 is an innovative textile art organization dedicated to representing diversity and celebrating individuality. The team designs a wide array of clothing that boasts a strong visual identity, believing that fashion is a powerful form of expression and a means to engage with the world. We honor and respect who you are and who you aspire to be, which is the essence of our motto, "being Vraiment." 

Our clothing serves as an invitation to step into another world, allowing you to create your own universe where you feel safe and protected. Safety and care are paramount to us, which is why our models and mannequins use pseudonyms. Moreover, our designer, Shely, dedicates herself to crafting silhouettes that diverge from traditional views, promoting self-love and comfort in innovative ways.

"I create clothes because of my deep passion for fabrics and my desire to provide comfort for real, imperfect individuals," said the designer of Team Shely509. "I'm not interested in crafting impossible ideals of perfection. Instead, I focus on celebrating authenticity and helping everyone feel comfortable in their own skin. My designs reflect my commitment to inclusivity and genuine self-expression."

At its heart, Team Shely509 began in 2014 not as a brand, but as a spontaneous experiment – a desire to invent a space for uninhibited self-expression. It was also an opportunity for our founder, Shedeline Francois, known affectionately as Shely, to embark on a completely self-taught journey into the art of sewing.

Over the years, Team Shely has evolved, deepening its commitment to celebrating the true diversity of bodies and desires. From 2018 onwards, our aesthetic matured, transforming into a distinct narrative form. Team Shely509 now sees itself as a storyteller, utilizing garments as poetic sentences, designed to empower individuals in writing their own unique histories.

Shely and her dedicated team pride themselves on moving beyond the obvious, continually embracing and reinventing inspirations without ever fearing to be "too much." Dramatic, poetic, and fantastically whimsical, "Team Shely509" is a complete universe where multiple galaxies coexist. Shely herself defines her work as " Glamour depressive-fantastic " – an invitation to explore beauty in its most authentic, unvarnished, and imaginative forms.

Our creations are deeply rooted in historical and polycultural inspirations, drawing from a rich tapestry of global heritage. The 2022 project, "La Demeure de Mademoiselle R," marked the first explicit manifestation of this profound cultural legacy. However, it is within "Merkurdig" that the true complexity and multifaceted nature of Team Shely509 are truly unveiled.

Within Team Shely509's narrative, the garments inherently reflect the profound impact of history and the mistreatment of those who are different. Naturally, the silhouettes are imbued with the shadowy presence of cryptic and deathly elements, creating a distinctive aesthetic. While the previous collection explored the "Merkurdig aesthetic" by balancing rebellion and tradition, our new collections further elevate this vision with a compelling blend of glamour and tragedy, revealing the true complexity and multifaceted nature of our universe
